6 hours from now, ashes of pain will hit the studio for a refined recording of corpses in the river. I am hyped. Very happy at the bands progress. And very eager to do more in the future. Ever since the last record ive been thinking.. the lyrics were very shallow. Yes they were artistic, but the voice of blasphemy was very subtle... a little TOO subtle. And so i cracked my skull to come up with new lyrics. taking inspiration from some of the most blasphemous bands, such as slayer, lamb of god, behemoth, venom, and more.
And here i am laughing to myself, satisfied with my results. Cant help but smile to myself thinking " God damn this is gonna piss alot of people off". Yeah, inspired by Tom Araya. Now all thats left is the recording. Hahaha God bless us

Metal as metal - the beautiful and the powerful
I havent updated for a long time i know .. ive been lazy and so yeah no fuckin excuse for me. However, here i am, with an update.
People... dont understand, the beauty of heavy metal music. I can see it, people are prejudice against it, and label it as noise before even knowing what metal is all about. But look at the people ive influenced up till now, many have changed their views towards metal, many started to appreciate, some eeven agreed that metal is some of the most in genius, sophisticated music ever made.
However, metal is a very masculine form of music, so i can see why most people will take me or any metalhead as posers. They think by being metal were trying to be as macho as we can, they think that we like to be different. well heres a thick big middle fuckin finger for you to gag on. i give you a FUCK YOU. The sole reason why all you suckers think that way is ultimately because you guys ARE that way. You guys dress up all lala walking like a pimp and talkin about love. Fuckin Pathetic! next thing you get dumped you crawl like a radroach towards my feet. Lose that shit punkfucks and get the fuck up.
Anyways enough with the rantings HAHA LOL. Let me first talk about a band i quite recently discovered, SEPTIC FLESH. An atmospheric band. Very very interesting. Septic flesh is a GREEK metal band. YES GREEK METAL, means they sing about greek mythology. Their songs consist of sick twisted riffs. Not in a jumpy punkish way like Korn, but they have a distinctive style. Their beats are slow, their guitars are rough, slow, and disturbing, accompanied by sickening growling vocals. Theyre very powerful, and their material is very strong. Definitely a recommended band.

DAMN its only been such a short time since fest of the tritone is over but im already missing that stage. the power, the metal.
those that were present that day probably heard my band, Ashes of Pain-s first self written song. Since the mic was pretty fucked people probably couldnt hear shit. The song was called "Corpses in the river".

METAL AND MATES - REASON TO LIVE

so its been a long time since i last updated.
so festival of the tritone was a success... thank God. As you all know ashes of pain only formed roughly one month ago and already we are organizing a gig. This gig represents our image, because were not the only band playing on that day. If we screwed up our name will be known... for screwing up gigs hahaha. As rock/metalheads, were ambitious... much more ambitious than most other musicians... this can be clearly seen on studio walls. EVERY last note that is looking for recruits are of metal bands. This clearly show how passionate metal/rock musicians can be.. So i know for fact when these bands that i invited to join the fest of the tritone were told they had a gig, no doubt they will be pumped... and imagine if we were to screw up the gig... well be fucked lol.
ONE INCH CLOSER

THE METAPHOR
ASNAIVEKILLER
These were the bands that were invited. one inch closer was a rock band. they play mostly japanese rock, and they were good. They managed to deliver the flavour of their music in their way. This and the fact that they are the softest among the other bands make them the perfect start for the gig. Its like a punch in the face, and a garuantee of quality for the audience.
Banbodo ditched... whadya expect? theyre called band BODOH.
next was the metaphor. i honestly have no FUCKIN idea what genre to label them. They were an instrumental band, consisting of two guitarist, one bassist, one violinist, one keyboardist and one drummer. They were FUCKING good. Their music was intense, and passes for a soundtrack for any classic hollywood movie anyday. They were good, definintely a punch in the face. they double confrmed the gig quality. and delivered more than just plain music. You should be able to guess how good they are... i SELDOM and i mean SELDOM praise non metal bands....
next up was ASNAIVEKILLER, a metalcore band. They were the ones responsible for pumpng up the crazy bastards that were present on that day. I was one of them, and we moshed and headbanged. the pit was pretty brutal... with huge pakistani metalheads throwing themselves against people. It was fun, and asnaivekiller did an awesome job...
and the last to play was ashes of pain.. my band... since we didnt have enough original songs to play, we were forced to play a few covers... we did slayer-raining blood first. raining blood was a crazy start, brutal and fast.. fuckin awesome for some crazy headbanging... what do you think? i have an army of fucked pakistani metalheads to satisfy. Those dudes were awesome seriously... along with members of asnaivekiller. second, we played bodies of drowning pool, catchy, jumpy, and heavy. third we played eat you alive - limp bizkit. this song was also heavy and catchy. very suitable for intense headbanging... forth, we played our first self written song-corpses in the river... This song had our own style... it wasnt the slow gory cutting of knives like arch enemy. and it wasnt the brutal blundgeoning of a sledgehammers like lamb of god riffs... it was our own distictive style... it was made up of mostly complicated riffs, accompanied with rather slow paced drums.. heavy yet melodic at the same time... i thought it was awesome... was wondering what the others think...
and lastly, also our self written song, betrayal.. this song was made as an outro using some of my guitaist(kai)s previous bands riffs. it consisted of a two solos.. played by both guitarists... and a drum solo. So everybody had a chance to show some shit. And in my opinion it was crazily awesome. We made plenty of mistakes but nailed everything in the end.
everyone was mostly satisfied with the gig. And asnaivekiller actually said its the best gog theyve ever played in... not bad huh? not bad for first try anyway hahaha!!!
ONE more thing i need to blog about. before gig day, on the 30th... i lived the best day ive ever lived in my life. me, howe, and bruce had a drinking session in mikis place. We were drinking and drinking when miki suddenly decided to cook for us. So she told me to defrost the bacons under the tap. The rest then left the kitchen leaving me alone.. and the lights turned off. then sounded a happy birthday song and in they come with a gorgeous Tshirt. These fuckers had my ass surprised... i know if i were to talk about how gayly touched i was at that moments this post would never end.. so ill just end it easy... never liked touching shit anyways...

FESTIVAL OF THE TRITONE
its been fuckin awesome so far. hangout with friends, chilling, and talking shit. Its been a pleasure teasing and laughing at you guys hahahaha thanks peeps for the good laughs!!!!
SO YEAH.... everyones working now. And i no longer have excuses to get out of home. Fuckin sucks balls. I mean YEAH i love video games and stuff but if you were to compare, I think chilling out with friends would be much more ......productive hahahahah.
but AT LEAST ive got something to look forward to.. 31ST OF AUGUST. NO not the national day. im not much of a patriot actually. But on the 31st, my newly formed band, ASHES OF PAIN will be performing live with 4 other bands. When it comes to music, nothing excites me more, nothing else could give me that satisfaction. And when you have realy dedicated bandmates, things will just be awesome.
Ive been in many bands, and played in many performances.. ive been a drummer, vocalist, or even both. But few bands could get that ball rolling like ashes of pain can. All five of us are tied tight. We knew what each of us could do and we trusted each other to do their part, no questions asked...
The other four bands which are performing are ASNAIVEKILLER, BANDBODO, METAPHOR, and ONE INCH CLOSER... ASNAIVEKILLER is a great band. ive played with them as a sessionist. They were a metalcore band.. and the members of the band were pretty much cool people. But the reason why i chose ANK over other bands to perform alongside me is more than just because they were a metal band, or the members are cool, or anything like that. The reason why i chose ANK was because they showed me the same respect before. They gave me opportunities before... And i should return the favour. Mutual respect between bands are more important than most people know. And also because mr GAYASS HOWE FOO is my gay partner so as a gay partner its only normal to let your gay partner perform alongside you right? LOL
ONE INCH CLOSER is a great band too. I was a witness of their musical abilities during their previous gig, groove in motion 3.. They play pretty much sentimental music and theyre definitely good at what theyre doing. BANDBODO according to Kai ( my guitarist ) is an insanely awesome malay metal band and metaphor according to gayass howe is also an amazing instrumental band.
ALL YOU PEOPLE THAT ARE READING!!! please do come and support ashes of pain LIVE @ LAvenue bar USJ1 !!!!! Especially you 4 whom i know as my blood siblings... YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!! ticket prices are rm15 each

MY opinion is that LP is a metal band. they may be light, they maybe rap but they are good. I mean, HOW DOES lp NOT qualify for metal? riffs composed over the tritone, screaming vocals, distorted guitars? because it has rap? DUDE thats why theres nu metal. NU METAL is also METAL... SO if youre a poser ass metalhead that acts all brutal and is such a badboy and dislikes nu metal then too bad for you. every subgenre has good bands... even my less liked metalcore, which IMO is heavy pop, theyre still good bands. so DONT say whats metal and whats not. its not for you to decide.
OKAY!!!! so ive been a linkin park fan since their first album, hybrid theory. That album was ultimate. Heavy guitars, good sceaming, good music. then came meteora, good but not as good, then came live in texas which owns!!!!. THEN came minutes to midnight.... okay now for this album i was dissappointed.... gone were the metal riffs, gone were the metal screams... all that was left were sentimental singing that played on constant monotonous beats. they resembled abit of electronic influence. but it wasnt that bad....
awhile ago i heard my friend talking about LPs newest single, the catalyst. honestly when i overheard this i was happy. Despite MTM being a dissappointment, i still had faith in this band, They were my primary influnces in getting where am i in the heavy metal scene today. And so i eagerly searched up the music video of the song

words cannot describe how fucked up the song was. its so fucked up its almost disturbing. id rather watch a thermonuclear warhead explode in a midgets asshole.

words cannot explain how dissappointed i am. All my childhood memories have been burnt to crisp. SO black and so dry that even hybrid theory became nothing but a vague image. No longer do i have faith in this band... As a band you should never sellout... NEVER.. especially to rap or techno. farewell linkin park.. never again these eyes will gaze at your beauty......

PS avenged sevenfolds new album in turn turns out to be a major improvement... especially the track GOD HATES US... heaviest stuff ive heard from them in a long while..... and while im at it, i might as well give you guys a treat!!!!
